One of the excellent features presented by Cortana is the ability to recognize music. The bad news, Microsoft's digital assistant is no longer able to recognize the music.
Previously, just like Shazam or Sound Hound, we can instruct Cortana to recognize what music is being played. How, by pressing the music icon on the Cortana interface when the music is being played. After that, Cortana will try to identify the music.
That unique capability is now eliminated. The loss of one of Cortana's special ability is due to the impact of Microsoft closed Groove Music music service.
For information, in October 2017, Microsoft officially announced it will close Groove Music service until the end of 2017. All Groove Music users will be transferred to Spotify which is a new partner of Microsoft in providing music services.
Now, when the Cortana user presses the music icon, an 'unrecognized song' message will appear. Cortana also informs users that the service is closed.
